Hi I'm Lou Lyle and this is me and my four legged, best friend forever - Charlie, doing what we love best, getting out for lovely walks together.
My business has come about from the happiness he has brought me and my family. I'm happily married to my childhood sweetheart and proud mum of two teenage daughters, now running my own
business.
I grew up with dogs as a huge part of my childhood as my mum bred Norwich Terriers which she also competed in shows with and she made it to the dizzy heights of Crufts with her first and forever
favourite "Chrisie."
Having been to uni and qualified as a teacher, my first job was out at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon and it was whilst I worked here Nick and I married and moved into our first home in Southam,
not long before our fantastic daughters, Georgia and Alex made our family complete - well in terms of people anyway... You see I felt something was missing and you guessed it it was a
dog!
Working almost full time we decided we wouldn't have our own dog and we signed up to be weekend boarders for the Guide Dogs in Leamington. We'd collect the dogs on Friday night, they'd
spend the weekend with us and then back to their training Monday to Friday.
We were vetted and confirmed as able to provide a suitable home space for them to thrive in and I completed the training necessary to uphold their very particular training standards throughout their
time with us.
Over the following years we had many of the trainee guide dogs, all shapes, all sizes and temperaments. They fitted in brilliantly with our young family and we all loved having them with us. Even when having to give them back we told ourselves we had done an important job helping them train to go on and be someone's eyes, there were always lots of tears though!
Unfortunatley I was taken very poorly in 2010 and having the Guide Dogs at weekends had to stop as I spent a long time in hospital and many months recovering at home too.
It was during my recovery that Charlie entered our lives and hearts. I was relearning to walk and it just felt odd, being out and about without a push chair or a toddler's hand to hold and so I found myself thinking about it being the right time for us to have a dog of our own and so I started the search. The search that would lead me to Charlie - he was for sale due to a families young son being allergic to him and after lots of consideration, we arranged to see him and then welcomed him to our family in Summer 2011.
He walked with me everyday and little by little we walked further and further and before long I was much stronger. I had made a return to work with a consultancy firm which I enjoyed for a number of years but now I've decided to bite the bullet, bring my skills from years of working for others and make my love of walking Charlie my new business. I've always been really good at organising and thorough in my work, been complimented on my professionalism, creativity and my personable character and I'm looking forward to using all of those and more in my new business.
I know how hard it is to juggle busy homes, lives, maybe children, busy jobs, family and friends and if I can help you by walking your dog for you, then it would be my pleasure.
I hope to be able to help you keep your dog happy and healthy!
Lou
